Here is one of my Rantual projects,an old friend of mine found 2 Experimental Farm Hand Power disc in a junk yard back in the 70's they had been cut in 2 to be destroyed. He bought them and welded one back together, he tried to pull it with a Farmal M and didn't have enough power..so he bolted a 352 Ford V8 onto it. He ran it a few years and parked it, I found it in 1992,,thought it was "different"..and last month I got it from him,it had been setting in the weeds for over 35 years (and actually it was probably a good place for it), it was 16ft wide,, I have narrowed it up to 9ft. so my 60 will pull it, and I used the parts off the second one he had which had new blades on it,,I am going to work plowed ground at the show with it and a 8ft. KBA disc... all in Fun...

You're living the dream. I've been wanting a JD 237 corn picker for a while now but is just not going to happen. I like the old implements and it killed me not to be able to buy a shed kept JD 12A forage harvester and shed kept 14T baler when they came up for sale a few years ago. The chopper looked like it had been just delivered from the dealer. No repaint and the baler was not far behind. Then there is the IH stuff that dad used to have.

I come across very good implements, especially when I worked off a service truck. A farm my Bros. rented a few years ago had a near new 237 picker in a shed, this same picker I set up when my dealer sold it to him in 1975,we had it transferred from a Marietta store where it had been setting "Un-set up" for several years, the old guy only picked about 200 acres with it, if that much. A farmer north of me has a very good 12A setting with blankets over it in a dry shed, been there for over 30 years. You have to look a bit harder for good ones but they are still around, the looking is just part of the Hunt...It's fun to bring old stuff to life, I am a couple new shafts away from spinning this Power Disc,,and a coat of Red paint, (an unusual color around here:^)..

You should come to my place for a visit. I have two 12 choppers with a two row corn head,hay head and a direct cut mower bar head. Also a 237 picker with a 50 sheller and both a 14t and a 214t baler. Also have lots of other stuff like 110,112 and 122 chuck wagons that I have gathered up. I try to use all of it some. Tom
