Stihl Farm Boss -- Chain Tensioner Replacement Screw?

This is one of those where the chain adjust screw is in the middle of the two clutch panel bolts... The screw literally cracked off in the housing. Can I just buy a new screw or do I need a new assembly? Having a hard time finding the part(s) in question.

I think it is a Farm Boss... 270 or 271?[/img]

I've replaced the tensioner in my MS 440 a few times over the years. The parts are not expensive and it's an easy fix. Just take the bar and chain off and remove the screw that
holds the metal cover on, if there is one on your saw, and then you can see the whole thing.

Will, just thread it back on, but you will need to take a link out of your chain or put a larger drive gear
on, that will fix your problem

FarmBoss can be an MS 290, 1127 series saw and if that is so, then you can see where that part goes in this photo. Should be readily available from Stihl. I was told last Saturday, you can order parts from the Stihl website and have them sent to a dealer for pick-up. I heard it from a Stihl dealer at the Ace Hardware down the road, who just picked up their line.

Billy NY -- oh yeah, I can def. see where it all goes in that pic. Going to head over to the dealer in the morning and see if they have the parts on hand, or if I need to order them. I'm pretty sure this is the part:

1125 007 1021 --> Spur gear / chain adjusting screw kit (1,4)

Record the saws serial number just above the log spike, and have it with you when you go to the dealer just to be sure. I referenced the series I'm most familiar with, yours might be different.

Double checked and I have an MS 290. Three local dealers. Nobody had the part on hand. Would have to order it. So, time to play the waiting game. Expect to have it later next week. Thanks for the help!

That's the one they labeled farm boss and it is an 1127 series saw. Parts are common to the MS 210, 250, 290, 390. and I may have missed a model# in between. Boatload of them on ebay - OEM and aftermarket.

Thanks! Yeah I bought an OEM one off of ebay for $10 or so, as I didn't see myself getting out of the dealer for under probably $25-$30, and they wouldn't get me the part any faster really. I'd have gladly paid a bit more locally if they had the part on hand, though.
