The other day as I was gassing up, took a shot of the price board. Wow what a big jump from off road to taxed fuel. Not a small amount.

Gasoline delivered to the farm in Oct. started out at $1.889/gal. With all taxes(4) $2.494. All these taxes are refundable. But then that's considered income!

85% ethanol here is 1.77, 10% ethanol is 2.45, 30% ethanol is 2.19. I burn 30% ethanol in my 93 Olds Regency and my 04 Dodge 4x4. Get the same mileage as 10% ethanol but save some cash. Wifes 99 Plymouth Voyager van uses 85% ethanol....loses a couple miles per gallon compared to 10%. E SD.

Only 40 cents, surprised that is all, taxes on fuel are pretty substantial. Then you also have the gross receipt tax, a tax the distributor pays not the customer, or so the state says...hmm where does the distributor get them money...gosh his customers who would have thought! And in the case of lubrication oils they charge gross receipt tax, and then sales tax on the gross receipt tax! Taxing tax go figure

40 cents a gallon taxes is pretty much in line with most states, I think. That's what it is in the People's Republic of Washington. Sens. Cantwell and Murray would double it if it was within their power.
