Some large farming in very pretty place!!!!

Most of the shots are of peas. But there were a couple of flax (live plants with blue flowers) and chick peas (aka garbonzo beans). There is a good world demand for plant based protein, pulse crops (lentils, peas, chick peas) have taken off the past few years. Market prices are still pretty decent compared to other commodities. There was quite a bit of drought in that area this year, which did hurt yeilds.

Very good and interesting perspectives with photography right up to watching the seed bag sewn shut...from inside the bag!

White peas and lentils took a bad drop recently because they had a bumper crop in India so they put a 30% embargo on those two crops. It included shipments en route. Takes all the profit right out of it for many.

I planted some field pea's for the organic farmer down the road. He had me plant it with some barley. I didn't know how I was going to harvest it with the pea's being so much larger seed then barley. He said set combine so nothing is going out the back and pay know attention what sample looks like in tank. Elevator was going to screen the pea's out and barley and trash was going for chicken feed. The pea's were what they wanted and the barley was just a bonus. They had me plant the barley to keep the weeds choked out of the pea's. I was surprised how clean the sample was in tank.

Here are a few pics from this past May. This is just across the Missouri River from where JD's linked video was shot. This field is about 400 acres. Takes an hour and 20 minutes to make the outside round.
