Its not an expensive toy,,but my dad had one just like it when i was pretty young.It was even the same color grey,So ,I had to have this one.I still remember turn the key,,then press a starter button on the left side of the dash.I still remember the sound of the flathead v 8,His was a 1949 half ton.

My dad bought a new 49 in light green, his first new pick up. He worked it hard and said it ran hot
too much so traded on a 51 Chevy and never owned another ford truck. Years later my first car
was a 52 Ford flathead V8 and it was crap too. Cracked blocks were common problem.

My 52 flathead Ford was a great car. Being young and stupid I drove it hard. Not many cars of the same era had a chance against it.

Hi, my father had a '49 Ford pickup. Then he
bought a '52. It was robin egg blue with black
fenders. He bought a '57 Ranchero after that. He

Maybe. Except for on the track. I think the Hudson 6 ruled.

The mercury flatheads were sought after back in the day, had good blocks and more power and would fit in a ford.

Old GMC sixes could be made to run the butt off a flathead Ford, just not as much speed equipment available for them. Chev V-8 killed them all.

Nice little truck. I have the 3/4 ton version in a 49 mercury. I think the flathead Ford has been part of the sound track of my life from birth. Never too far away.
The 52 sedan is in the shed just waiting for the next drive. But this old truck is going to take a long time before it runs

Bought a F 1 one about like this F 1, other than mine was org. Ford red. Got mine from a neighbor when he traded it. That old flat head would really pull and go ! Mine had four on the floor to. clint

My first pickup was a '49 Ford F-1 V-8 with 3 sp. Bought in San Jose, CA in 1962 for 225 bucks....It did need a little work, rings and a valve
job, but ran good for several years after that for me and then a BIL. Pretty tough little truck.......
