Here is you a $3,000 1650 https://bgky.craigslist.org/grd/d/1650-oliver-tractor/6517678748.html

That's right about where the price should be. I might even try to kick him down by $250 or so. I wish somebody luck if they ever want to narrow that front axle down though. My 1600 was set out like that. I ran it with the clamps loose for 16 years with a loader on it and it never let loose. I swapped out the front axle from a White 2-105.

I had no idea , gas tractors and then olivers just do not bring much around here. Sure he will end up taking less,if he really wants to sell it.

It's not much different than my 1600 gas. The jockey I got that from wanted $2500 for it. I traded a John Deere 3010 diesel for it,even money. Some folks might think that was crazy, but I've been doing the happy dance every since.

Ah...if only there were video. SO what was up with the axle? One tube inside another and she won't break loose? Reminds me of some PTO shafts I have encountered where someone thought the more grease the better. Get a nice hardened grease hydraulic lock going on. Sounds like a challenge. :)

Ya,I've heard of guys finally getting them loose with a rosebud tip and a porta power. The ones on the 1550 and 1850 are loose on their own, naturally. There's always a little but of rust working out around the end of those. They're already set in though so I don't need those to be loose.

Dunno on the 1550- I had one I tried for years to narrow up, finally decided "it is what it is", and just went with it.

They like to get tight. Earlier on this winter I loosened the front axle tubes on the 1086 with a rosebud, portal power, a sledge hammer and plenty of sore muscles.

There was a 1650 gas on the Richmond CL for $2500 about a year ago stayed there a while, probably should have bought it.On moving those front ends I've gotten a couple (not Oliver) loose by
chaining one side to a tree and hooking the opposite side to a big tractor with a chain come a long and just keep it tight and heat the outer part of the axle. The constant pull plus
the heat breaks one side loose sooner or later.get that side cleaned up put it back in an start to work on the other side.

I don't pull it with the tractor just use the tractor as an anchor to hook the chain style come a long to,then leave it all hooked up sometimes it'll take several days and several heatings and cooling off to get it to come loose. All the time I try to get another notch on the come a long every time I go by.

No need. It's laying across the frame of a parts tractor now. I doubt I'll ever use it. I can use the hubs and spindles on another tractor if I need them.

1 at auction yesterday with bad back rims and tire brought 2500---2 months back a non-runner went for 4250 is southern ind

Twenty five will usually about catch them here for a gas. There was a one owner 1600 narrow front diesel here on a sale last summer. The steering hydramotor was bad. It wouldn't turn left if it was sitting still and you had to keep turning the wheel to keep it going straight when it was moving. I ran that one to $1500. I'd have gone higher if I'd had another hydramotor for it.
