I guess you should of done some troubleshooting first! Check all connections, use jumper cables to bypass all components one at a time, try a different battery using jumper cables. Hook ground jumper cable to a clean bolt on the starter to bypass all bad ground possibilities.

Always trouble shoot then parts NEVER the other way around.

Did you have your old starter checked to see if it was bad?? Have you had the battery check to see if it has the correct volts and load tested?? Battery cable can go bad and you cannot see that. Connection can be bad and need to be clean tight and bright

Ground cable, especially where it attaches to frame. Might be appropriate to ground directly to starter frame. Check starter cable as well. Sure starter switch is making proper connection? Try bypassing various wiring components with a jumper cable. Are you sure starter is functional? Bench test it? Is battery up to full charge? Many Possibilities for no-go starter

Get a $5 test light from your local auto parts store/WalMart/Horror Freight and do some troubleshooting.

My guess is that it is a bad battery ground connection, too small cable sizes, or corroded battery cable ends. I had to move my battery ground cable connection to one of the starter mounting bolts to get a good ground. I assume that you are still running 6 volt, if so you need to have wire Size No. 1 cables or larger. Are the battery terminal ends of your cables made on there or are they clamped to the battery cables? If they are the clamp on battery terminal ends, remove therm from the cables and clean off the corrosion.

Take a good pair of jumper cables and go directly from battery to starter, make sure tractor is out of gear FIRST!!!! Will tell u if u have connection or cable problems!!!!!

(quoted from post at 15:48:03 03/29/18) I do 99% of my trouble shooting and never use a test light. clean tight and bright covers a lot of starter problems.

Well, young fella, how come whenever you are working on something you come here and ask for help. You have to be fixing 50 rigs a month at that rate.

Old starter had a broken end cap is why I replaced....I do own a test light. Found my issue. Thanks
