I bought a JD4440 recently that had the engine overhauled. It arrived and noticed that it has 14.9x28 front tires on it....looks pretty goofy as the front end sits up hill. I have been looking on the net to see what were on these and ive found two listing on tractor house that have 4wd 4440's - both had 13.6 x 24 on the front as seen here

So my question... what size front tires are the hfwd models suppose to have and where can a get a pair of rims. Also any idea what the rims I have on it now would have gone on? Be nice to know when I go to sell them... Thank you very much for the responses!

No more differnce than you are talking about they probably just replaced the tires with a size larger than the originals. They might have n=been working on muck or some other soft wet soil and just added the larger size to help float more.

He said that the current front rims were 28" and originals were 24" so it was more than a tire swap.
The bolt pattern on those wheels was different than std. 8 bolt tractor rims. The same as what most combine hyd driven rear axles have.

I believe I have found what originally would have been on the tractor - jd part RE19433.. Your spot on them being the rear on some older harvesters. One question - probably pushing it but can I fit a 13.6 tire on this 10" rim?

Thanks
