Finding phone numbers

My old college friends and work associates are now mostly retired and scattered all over the nation. Many have cut their land line and now have only cell service. I am looking for a safe, reliable and fairly priced site that will provide phone numbers for these folks, so I can call, make contact and catch-up.

Can you recommend a good site for getting a few numbers without enrolling in a monthly service commitment.????

On the other hand, I wish DEATH for those involved in peddling cell phone numbers!

Those pay sites...are scams. Don't do it! Best way to connect, whether you like it or not...Facebook and find them there. Then you can exchange numbers.
You also can connect with your college alumni association. They may be able to help you.

I used a site called Intelius a year ago to find an old college roommate I hadn't talked to in nearly 40 years. I reviewed the results of the search, then paid a one time fee when I thought I had a likely candidate. I got lucky and hit it on the first try. Was he ever surprised when I called. If you are doing several, you might want to consider paying for one month then canceling.

Also look on LinkedIn if you think they are still working a "white collar" job.

Or just google the name and state, you will be surprised what shows up. Do it on yourself and see.

I know many many people abhor Face Book but that is how I found many old high school, college and work friends. You can choose what personal info you put on it, not "friend" people you don't want to, unfriend annoying people and simply skip those "shares". Communications that you want to keep personal such as phone numbers can be done by Messenger. I periodically go thru my friends list and delete those that I no longer communicate with. It's not for everyone but it has it's uses.

I can find them on the internet, showing age, wife & kids names, and past addresses, so I know the city where they live, but getting an address and a phone number is the hard part.

I've tried facebook and linked in but not everyone is on those sites.

I take it from your comment that you would not hesitate to use Intelius again? If so thanks, that was the type of experienced review I was looking for.

For those who have dealt with/paid/condone "information brokers", (NICE term for "bottom feeding slime mold") how much info do you suppose they collected on YOU from the interaction/transaction?

Something to thing about!

I have always had my name in the phone book. I don't like robo calls but most of those come from random dialers anyway.
I get a kick out of guys that operate their own business but have an unlisted number and no website. Interesting marketing strategy. I also think most people that are worried about someone spying on them would be sad to know that almost no one gives a hoot about them or their information.

I did a search at one of those sights for donald duck, They found several phone numbers and family records including criminal records. Then they wanted 17.95 to send me the info.

I have fun when "Rachel from Card Services" calls to help me lower my credit card interest, but when I tell them I NEVER pay interest and ask so how can she help me, she hangs up (guess I'm a weirdo) lol. Sometimes I ask if they want my address, birthdate, social security number and mothers maiden name THATS OKAY ISNT IT ??? LOL

I register for every government No Call List I can find, but still get calls. Years ago white pages gave out phone numbers but nowadays all they want is to offer paid services and have you clicking all over the net and you like never actually find anything grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh well its a sign of the times, thanks to AlGore for inventing the Internet right ???

Try the county property appraisers website.
Also, some counties allow you to look up voter registrations.

(quoted from post at 12:49:00 09/10/18) why would I want to hide if you have a cell phone your every move is tracked now

I'm not trying to hide.

My point is that the "information brokers" who scour public records and the 'net to dig up information on folks (such as cell numbers) that are not intended to be public, as a business model/profit center are SCUM, plain and simple.

Larry, SERIOUSLY, do you think that should be legal/would be legal if they weren't "lobbying" congress?

Stalkers can buy the info just like it was suggested that the O.P. do.

Do you think that's right?
