Special thanks to Fawteen for posting a link to this in the GM tailgate discussion the other day. Just what this vertically challenged, do not drop compliant 65 year old needed.

Just love those burn it magic torches! Have two model 4000 type floating around. Have you taken a look at the 8000 model? They got a couple here at work. Has the knob on them so you can adjust the flame up and down. VERY handy and it really works.

Neat idea.
I know a few old men who hate their jacked up trucks.
I learned in 2007 GM wasn't going to make the classic lowriders any more so I bought one.

We have an excellent spring shop in Terre Haute. I asked the owner how hard it would be to lower a new truck. He said easy to do on 2x4's.

Has anyone lowered their jacked up truck?

I haven t done it, but I have thought about dropping our ram 2X4,it is the same height as a 4x4.

tall kid needs something for the old man to get in and out of his dodge ram 20 inch tires.
I almost need a ladder

About 30 years ago I thought about building those and heated seat covers.
If I would've only followed through. That and I was young and didnt know any better.

For years I've used the tire as a ladder to climb in my pickup. Quick and easy. But I'm older than you.

I just carry a short stepladder in the back of my '96 2500 ClubCab 4x4 V-10. It is only on 265/75-16s though. The NV4500 works fine also and makes it nearly theftproof.

I?m 65 and not giving in just yet. The stretch is good for me. The thing that gets me though is why are trucks getting taller? You could sit on a 1/2 ton trucks tailgate wiith your feet on the ground back in the 60?s and they cleared the snow just as high as the new ones.

Thank you for the great idea! Amazon has these for $42.54. I carry a short step ladder in the pickup box, but might switch to one of these ladders in the future. Thanks again!

(quoted from post at 14:01:03 01/20/19) You're absolutely right,No reason for trucks to be so high. I think it's to appeal to the younger crowd, the "my trucks bigger than your truck boys.

Yep, got to make up for their 'Shorty'.

About 11 years ago, I went shopping for a new truck. First thing I ran into was the height. I'm 6 foot and could not reach over the side to get anything in the bed. Top of bed being higher than my arm pit. That was Ford and GM.

I'm a firm believer in form follows function, so if that was the brilliant idea of some marketing guru who thought stylish was more important than functional, joke was on them.

I bought a 2006 Tundra and still have it. 182,000 miles last I checked and never in the shop once for an unscheduled repair.

A little man step to climb into a pickup truck? What a joke.
