Just for kicks, drop down to Tractor Tales and take the poll on 1950s Westerns.
If nothing else, we'll know how old some of you guys are. LOL

Well, since you posted here I will respond here where most people will see it. Bonanza debuted in 1959 so it could be considered a 1950's Western. I am partial to Bonanza for its family dynamic although the show could be campy at times. Gunsmoke seemed to be more good guy versus bad guy although the tone shifted in the mid-1960's to troubled people who are traveling through Dodge City. Both shows were already on the air before I was born and while growing up were the only ones fitting the OP that were on in reruns. Since Big Valley did not come on until the mid-1960's it does not count for your survey I would imagine.

I used to enjoy looking at the old 1930s and 1940s westerns with guys like Bob Steele, Sunset Carson, Rocky Lane, john Wayne, and a handful of others on Netflix. They were nice because most were around an hour long, and they upheld a standard of decency.
Somehow, most of the ones I liked seemed to vanish from Netflix after a while.
But, probably my favorites were Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Their big attraction was that they were made in color when color TVs were just coming onto the market.

(quoted from post at 18:50:34 01/21/19) "Have Gun / Will Travel"...Richard Boone and the best opening "ballad" of any.

A friend of mine thought Paladin's first name was "Wire" because the business card shown at the beginning of the show said Wire Paladin, San Francisco.

On the series Lawman, Lily Merrill, the owner of the Birdcage Saloon is one of the nicest looking women I have ever seen.

(quoted from post at 20:53:32 01/21/19) LOL, Loved wagon Train, Do you remember the cooks name???

I like all of the old western series but Gunsmoke is probably my favorite. Wagon Train cook's TV name is Chuck(Chairlie) Wooster.

The oldest westerns are comical to watch. I always wondered how many horses/actors/stunt men got hurt when the horses somersaulted(flipped while running) & how so many bullets were shot from a 6 gun without reloading them??

Any of the Randolph Scott westerns. Always seemed to do the right thing ,even if he had less than the best intentions in a few. Like the one with Joel McCrae where they were to bring gold out of the mining camp when they wind up bringing Mariett Hartley with them. James Dury Was also in it as one of a family of uncouth brothers.
Of course any of them will work for me.
