Spreader fixed!

I finished up the axle on the manure spreader today. I added an extra piece of angle iron to the square tube...

Welded the new axle in place...

Ready to make it rain stink!

All heavy duty now. And we think road salt can rot stuff. There is nothing like liquid poo to rot metal.

Depending on moisture content there is a lot of variation in what manure weighs. If it is dry with no boards you would have a very light load.

That spreader looks to be in real nice shape and well built.
I guess the engineers at New Holland miscalculated when designing the axle, though!
