Ford 1220 no move, hydrostatic.

3-point hitch raises erratically. Thought filters might be plugged so changed oil and filters. Drained trans/ hydraulic fluid looked clean, not many hours on it. No change with new oil. Then tried to move tractor, it moved a little bit then suddenly stopped, and now will not move in any range. Hitch still works, but is still erratic, like the pump is sucking air or something. Any ideas? Thanks,Fritz

I would recommend not running the engine any more until you can get a pressure gauge on the charge circuit. Without charge pressure a hydrostat will not operate but more critically it will also not live - running a hydro with no charge pressure can quickly destroy it. There's almost certainly a gauge port somewhere on the case but it probably isn't labeled so you'll need to check with a dealership or a service manual to determine where it's at. Hydros vary in what amount of charge is required but for a simple manual displacement control system like that it's probably around 75 psi.
