Where I?m currently working they grow around 600 acres of potatoes. We?re using a 6 row Grimmie planter with auto steere and navigation and this year they added row shaping baskets so they won?t have to come back in in a months time to shape the rows. That will save them 2 tractors a weeks work. Others have been doing it that way with pleasing results for a number of years now. We?re almost finished hauling last years crop to the fry plant ,maybe 12 trailer loads left.

Post some pictures if you can. I will bet a lot on here have never seen that process. Always interesting to see other farming methods.

Will do Ben,we may be planting tomorrow so I?ll get a few. We?re planting Rangers now in one of our own fields, have Burbank?s and Dakotas to go in also.

I worked until 3 the other day started at 6 am the day before spread fertilizer and then worked it in on 150 acres out of a thousand. another guy came behind me to mark the potato rows then the planter will come behind and the shoe on the planter will split the hill and then the discs on the planter will hill the potatoes after planting we will re hill the potatoes with a dammer diker . There are a few of the planters around that will plant and hill all in one pass . Just barley got started and then the rain started and hasn?t stopped in 10 days I?m not complaining

That?s a lot of acres, where are you located? Our neighbor has a damer dyker on their row shaper

Are you hauling to Cavendish outside of Kensington?
I have some friend that work there that we met a few years ago while on Vaction.
Hopefully going back there this summer for a couple of weeks. We stay at Cabot park
