My nephew bought this tractor and kept it at his maternal grandmothers house,he mowed her yard for many years with it.
She passed away and her house was sold.

He surprised me,,and brought it to Pa,,

He said,,Uncle Larry mow with it,,and have some fun,,,dont walk with the walk behind mower ,let me do that part

That's a nice one! Looks like you
are going to catch up with my
collection soon!!! You need an
Oliver, a MM ,and an AC......lol.
one day we gotta come visit you!

Nice Larry! Do you like it? My wife keeps planting stuff and
pretty soon all I?ll be able to mow with is a push mower and
weed wacker.

I used to have one of the earlier models,a 154. It was hooked to a Mott CLB special flail mower. It was an OK
mowing outfit because the mower was built for the tractor. Two things stand out in my memory. #1 is that the live P
T O setup was reverse rotation and #2 the clutch needed frequent adjustment to work correctly. On the one I had
the clutch disk was located at the front of the transmission behind the drive shaft from the flywheel.

I wish they still made 'em like that. But no, nowdays they'd have to add on on-board computer, wi-fi hotspot, voice activation, unlimited memory recall, full time connection with 'The Cloud', and a cup holder....ON EACH SIDE!

Offset steering wheel to be sure to see the fuel gage that you really don't need to look at very
often. You do have a clear view of the Rad cap!!! Nice. Jim

I love mine. Wish I had the 2 speed trans though. I can cut stuff as thick and tall as what you there that isnt cut with sharp
blades, but mine has been bored out and has the Zenith carb.

Gene the one I had the blade (PTO) clutch was at the right rear and was a small clutch pack that just kept wearing out. I finally just took screws and ran thru the pack, thing was then if it chocked down with the deck down had to pull start it. Mowed for years like that.

(quoted from post at 12:33:33 05/27/19) So is it old enough to be a true IH cub cadet or is it an MTD made one??

IH
That "style" was replaced in 1977 with the Red 184.

They were a good "Estate" tractor but not much else with the oddball pto, low power, and most were built without 3-point.
They even made a snowthrower for them which often worked better as a snow pusher.
