Hyd cylinder air removal

I had to replace a busted hose into the cylinder that controls the bucket clawing action on my backhoe. Now I've got air in there and I am having trouble getting it out. The backhoe is an old MF 202 version (has DAVI on it). I have loosened one line into the cylinder and put pressure into the other thus forcing out some air and fluid. After doing this several times on each side the bucket still moves real slow.
What more can I do?

Keep the reservoir full and operate it. If the rod is normally down when in service raise the boom and dipper so the bucket cylinder rod is up and cycle. The oil may have foamed some. It will clear, just may take a bit long than you think it should. That all I've ever had to do.

Air is not the problem.

Something is restricting the flow or there is a problem in the valve.

Air will cause erratic, jumpy movements, but not slow. Very seldom does a line or cylinder need bleeding. Possible a crushed line, something restricting the valve movement. Are there quick connectors? Were they disconnected? Possibly a bad connection there.

Very good point Steve. I have seen a new hose with a flap of inner liner in the fitting stem, because the stem was forced in wrong by the guy making it.

Yes I found a blockage so all is well again. Thanks folks.
