Update: Something I should have kept

Well FB is paying off, can?t post an ISO ad just like I wanted to on their marketplace site for some reason of a violation since I?m not selling an item, my wife has contacted FB to find out what the problem is, but meanwhile on some of the Buy, Swap and Sell sites on FB my tractor search was successfully posted and already got three hot tips on possible tractors that may be the one in the last known area for it to be that I had known about. Will know more tomorrow hopefully if and when I can make contact with these folks, it?s lit a fuse on the internet for me, I?ll keep y?all in the loop if interested. Had one guy call me from Florida and said he thought he had it but after 20 minutes of talk I know it?s not mine. Got my fingers crossed, it?s time for the old gal to come home.

Had several tips I followed up on today, went to look at several JD?s that were possibly the one I?m looking for but came up zero. It?s funny in a way, everyone I approached about their JD tractor was unaware that their names were posted on FB by folks that sent in tips on where to look. Every body I contacted this evening was very courteous though and have vowed to help in my quest, that?s a good trait that Southern people have. One guy is a member of two tractor clubs that I didn?t even know existed in two cities in my county. Well my search today from the FB tips turned up two JD 420?s, a JD M, JD A, JD MT, JD 40W. One phone call from a town 90 miles east of me has my curiosity up though, the guy bought a JD 40T eight years ago that had a galvanized straight pipe exhaust like Daddy had done to ours, the guy said you could hear it from 10 miles away when he bought it but his son in law ended up cutting the pipe off and they put a muffler on it, he has emailed me 8-10 pics of it and it looks really good in it?s faded out glory. Could be the one, he said the pic of mine looked exactly like his when he bought it with the 1-3/4? thick wall galvanized exhaust pipe. He said he?d make me a deal if it was Dad?s old tractor, he didn?t say what the price would be though, he paid $2200 for it 8 years ago, I sold our 40T for $200 in 1991 just because it needed four tires and a battery
