Massey Ferguson TO35 3 point hitch slowly lowers on idle

Hello,

I have a MF TO35 and the 3 point hitch lowers on its own when it's on idle or even 1/4 throttle, only when I rev it up that it lifts the implements back to the position it's supposed to be, what would be the cause for that?

Take the right side cover off, start it up, tell it to raise with a load, or chain the arms down.

Whatever you do, DO NOT REACH IN THERE!!!

Look up at the bottom of the cylinder. Dripping or very small stream is normal, pouring oil is not, bad cylinder and/or seal rings.

There is also a standpipe the brings oil up from the pump, oring at each end. If spraying out the top, or roiling up from the bottom, the oring is blown. It can be removed from the top.

There is also a relief valve on the side of the pump, it can be leaking.

Usually a bad pump will be jerky and slow to raise.

Before going in to repair, a shop manual will be very helpful. The top cover is HEAVY. The control linkage comes out with the top cover, and must be disconnected from below before lifting the cover. The linkage is fragile and complex, best not to take chances damaging it.
