Bucket sale - will it fit?

Runnings (like a Rural King) is having their annual "bucket sale" this weekend. Anything that fits in the complimentary 5 gallon bucket gets a 15% discount.

I go for the free bucket, but I'm thinking about challenging their definition of "fit." The advertising clearly shows things sticking out of the bucket. I've put things like tire irons in the bucket and gotten the discount.

The challenge? A roll of net wrap for a round baler. The bucket will fit over the end of the roll, so technically it is *IN* the bucket.

Sometimes the fine print says something like to "up to twice the height of the bucket." I'd try it
anyway. If nothing else, it might make someone smile.

Their profit margin is still around 40% with the discount tho there may be a few lost leaders its part of the game...

You can not operate a businesses with out a mark up its a fact normally its 60% mark up...

Read the fine print, When L&M does that they state the item must not stick out over twice the height of the bucket. I guess a
guy bought a small chainsaw and got the 15% off!

I had a 9 ft mower sickle with one end in the bucket last year and it counted I got the discount
One stipulation in previous years was item must remain in original packaging so it eliminates a lot of items in boxes

If I were manager I'd gather the sales ppl together for a pre bucket-sale pep talk.

"Look we're here to sell stuff. The more stuff we sell, the better. If someone can fit a mig welder in a bucket give em their stinkin' 15% discount!"

Mission successful!

As I and many of you suspected, they were extremely lenient on what got the discount.

The roll of netwrap fit quite easily into the bucket with room to spare, so I shoved a set of mower blades in as well. As I wandered the store picking up a few other items, I got many looks and chuckles from other shoppers.

The lady ahead of me with the popup gazebo mashed into the bucket got the discount, so I knew I was golden.

In fact they gave me the discount on everything in the cart, not just what was in the bucket.
