Dose anyone have an experience with a Waynes ( 4 in 4 ft ) mounted tile plow, how hard do
they pull,I pull 7 16's easily with my Versatile, I am thinking it should handle it but I
could be wrong. Thanks Bryan

I don?t know about tile plows but someone must . 3x16 rollover is a good load for a 112 horsepower tractor in this area If you put it in the ground .

How big a Versatile. I see the pros using their huge plow with 2 D9s on the front!!!

I know that is a bigger and deeper boot, but I would think you need 375-400 hp to be worthwhile.

Mresmoke, that sounds more like deep plowing than tile plowing.

I pull a Soilmax tile plow with a New Holland 8870 FWA, rated 180 hp. With 4" tile, it does reasonably well down to about 4 ft. Deeper than that, or with 6" tile, traction becomes the major issue, not power. A 4WD Versatile should have no problem.

It all depends on the soil type--we have put 1000's of ft. in with a mounted tile plow. Around here we don't put them at 4 ft. anymore-we run 3 ft. of dirt on top and put them at 50 ft. spacing. They will drain better--If you can see your combine yield monitor vary more than a few bu. when going crosswise on corn you have your tile too far apart. Even a 3 ft. if you don't pre-rip you might need a pull tractor in front of your Versatile-We have had a Deere 8630-Stieger St-250-And now the old Stieger 2200 which the plow stays on over the years. We ran either a Deere 4630 or a 8130 on the front of it and the pull tractor would close the tile ditch on the way back down the grade. Good Luck---Tee

Big Tee have you heard that rumor about tile plows breaking articulated tractors? You have obviously proved that rumor wrong.
