Sometimes the end can come quickly

I was out combining today, thinking how much fun I was having, crop was clean and dry and going through good. Then bang! The crankshaft that drives the straw walkers snapped. Going to hire the rest harvested. Not sure if I can even get a part for this old combine . A picture just before the end.

Had to replace one in the 7700 found a used one . It?s not a bad job just lay a 2x4 across the top run ratchet straps down to each walker raise em up slide the old shaft out slide the new one in let the ratchet straps go put the bolts in and go

There are a lot of MF 850s salvaged around here. The separating system is the same. I have done some work on a MF 851.

Bummer. I hope you can salvage the situation. Darn ?quipment just don?t cooperate sometimes. Nice picture. It ain?t over ?til the shaft lady sings.

Cook tractor parts
Combine and hay tool salvage 877 885 9201
Tractor salvage 800 769 5823
They salvage lots
Good luck

If you need I could check with the, they have a lot of Massey parts, might even have a new one. Their number is 763 689 1179. They might not ship it as the new tax laws are making that tough, but if they have it I would ship it to you.

All States Ag Parts is the largest supplier of used and remanufactured combine parts in North America. 10 Salvage yards, 13 locations. One of their salvage yards is about 20 miles from me. Awesome. 1-877-530-4430. Good Luck.

Might want to try MM Weaver in Leola, PA. Not sure how much used stuff they have anymore. Spallinger in Ohio. Abilleen Machine in Kansas. Probably some pretty nice stuff going to parts due to the last grain boom having guys updating machines. Used to be a few nice MF machines around this area. I don't think that the 850/1 were especially noted for broken cranks so there should be one out there to get.

There's another combine salvage yard on the West side of Indiana SR 27 between Fort Wayne and Portland that I always see on the way to Portland. Mailing address is probably Berne, IN. Looked like they had all different colors there.

That is at Bryant and is way to far away to have a Berne mailing address. On In 67, 18 and US 27 intersection. Around 30 mile west of me. Berne is quite a ways north of Bryant.

Obviously in Kansas, but you can try Mike's Equipment in Buhler, KS. He has many combines of all persuasions. Google him. He should have the part. Good luck - Bob
