In the snow that is, only I have an
enclosed cab and heat. Needed more hay
yet so cut fourth cutting.

Didn't go on the steeper stuff with ponds
at the bottom, thought swimming wasn't a
good idea tonight! Lol

I'm a little confused.
What keeps the fert. from running off during snow melt?

Probably works the same as dormant seeding the first snow or two. Snow melts seeds sink in the mud a wee bit.

It has a sticker that keeps it from washing away and with our extremely low rainfall and heavy soil we do a lot of fall fertilizer applications erosion isn?t even a thing here. if our soil was like some guys this hill would be on the other side of the field by now

And what was left would be on the other side of the highway

The pic of spreading fertilizer reminded me of going through lime application records a few days ago. I was using a similar spreader and a note on the paper said that it was 20* that November day. I use "wet" lime and it was freezing onto the sides of the spreader, and I had to keep getting out and pushing the lime down the sides with a shovel. I was miserable that day.
