I wonder why the author has a picture of a Waterloo Boy for his story instead of a Frolich? John Deere has a replica built for the centennial in 1937 on display at the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum.

Thanks, interesting article. I live not far from Froelich Ia, and help a friend with crops and go through Froelich to get to farms. If you blink you might miss it, its that big! Lol
 
Mark, I was thinking the same thing...

That WB is high tech compared to some pictures I've seen.

I'm thinking wood frame, drive wheels in front, slick wheels with no lugs, pretty much a motorized wagon.

Unlikely we'll ever know who first attempted to do such, probably many that never left the farm they were built on.
 
I can't tell you about that. Mine hasn't been out of the box. I have the Case steam engine version sitting on a shelf. The engine and belts move on it as well.
