I recently purchased a case 1175.... I want to change the hytrans oil and filter(s) is there another filter besides the steering/brake filter on the Rt side of the machine .... it holds 17 gallons (with filter change)
I m considering using lube king case Ih hytrans
This tractor has wet hydraulic brakes and an 8 spd
Manual trans ....what are your thoughts the lube king comments I ve seen are mostly positive... does warren make this product ?
Thank you so much for your help....

(quoted from post at 12:29:26 10/31/19) the 1175 has dry brakes.

The only wet clutch/brake in the system is the PTO clutch.
I was under the impression there were two options..
1.brake set up with a separate external master cylinder
2. Hydraulic assist power brakes boosted by the hyd system ... my biggest concern is the lube king case Ih oil safe to use in my trans/hydraulic system... thank you for your prompt response

The source of my info is an IT J I Case service manual sect 156 part 2(paragraph two ) it seems to fit due to the lack of a visible external master cyl ....and the pics provided...
I have much to learn ... thanks again for your help

like said the 1175 has external "dry" brakes,, they can have plain hyd brakes or power brakes, but that is just how they are applied none run in oil, its yours you buy what oil you want to but I Highly recommend you using cnh Hy-Tran oil ONLY this coming from someone who sold them new, ran a repair shop for over 25 years and owns a fleet of Case, not cih but Case equipment,, the correct oil is important to long component life, make sure you get the Correct micron hyd filter and yes there is only one filter but there is a pump suction strainer on the inside of the pto housing

Thank you for clearing that up on the brakes ...as I said I have much to learn about this case tractor... I have a case back hoe... two case David brown tractors that have given me great service... and a 475 case cable layer dozer converted to a 4/1 blade ... all have given great service ...
thanks again

Is the oil you get today from Case IH,( Hytran) the same oil IH used back in the sixties in their hydraulics in the 400 450s and such
IH told tractor owners to use only Hytran in the hydraulics and that is all we used. Did JI Case have a hydraulic fluid in the 70's that was called TDF fluid and the later on that became TCH fluid? My memory is not as good as it was so I may have these wrong.
I know JD always recommend using their hydrostat fluid in their combines (7700, 6600 and such) however the JD tech manual said that if JD fluid was not available to use Texaco type F trans fluid. Has the same company manufactured hytran all these years?

the Hy-Tran ih came with you speak of was not always compatible with other oils,, cnh has changed the formula several times over the years,, it is a very good oil for sure. Case had TCH first, then when the 1270/1370 came out testing had shown they needed a better oil for the increased hp,, so TFD came to be,, at the time it was the best they had come up with,, I found Hy-Tran to be a top shelf oil in the 90's,, and have used it ever since,, it has many property's that I have not found in any other oil,, some say it is not needed and use cheap oil,, its theirs they can use water for all I care,, to me a proper high quality oil is the only way to go, and is cheap to use compared to repairs,, I always think back to a show I was watching on vintage airplanes,, the owner of a multi-million dollar plane was asked how much it cost to fly it a hour, his reply was if you have to ask you cant afford it,, I feel the same way about skimping on oil and grease,, but again this is just my own opinion ,,, to each his own on their equipment, I just recommend what I know works for the long haul, I made a lot of money in my repair shop on equipment that ran cheap oil,, those always left with the correct oil what the owners did after that was not my problem,, I would not warranty any transmission/rear end repairs unless it had the proper oil, no matter the brand, hope that ramble answered your questions

Thanks for responding to my post. I also agree with you on using good quality oils. Dads 830 com diesel only had name brand automatic type A used in the case-o-matic and hydraulics. That tractor has well over 10,000 hrs and the hydraulic and com has never been touched. the engine and transmission has been overhauled though.
