Good evening all,

After 5 years of picking up valuable information and tips off from this forum, I have decided to join and introduce myself.

I picked up a 1948 Ford 8n from my Great Uncle several years ago, two seized cylinders, burnt vales, electrical demolished by mice, ect. ect. A three year restoration process regulated by time and $$ and I finally have it parade worthy, and it also does a great job stacking up windrows in the hay field!

Anyways, I wanted to join to thank you all for your knowledge and willingness to share on this open forum. I couldn't have restored the 8n without the help!

Now I have picked up my grandfather's MF 65 and placed my first order of parts to get her back up and running. Hope to have her in the hay field along with the 8n by summer!

I will likely be picking your brains on any trouble shooting I come across with the Massey, so I thank you all in advance!

A couple pictures of the restoration of the 8N attached.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not a Ford guy, but there are plenty on here who are and are will to help. Glad you are here. Chris

Welcome. it is always nice to welcome people to the site. We have a 9n and n 8N on the farm, among a bunch of IH letter and 3 digit number tractors.
The 8 sure looks like it found a happy home. Jim

Landscape looks like you live in the East somewhere, maybe Virginia or Carolinas? Always nice to look at pictures of restored tractors.

I?m a ford fan, just not of the 8n, 9n ect, but you did
a great job with it! I?m not to far from the green
mountains of vermont,

Welcome aboard, old iron is old iron regardless of color or make!!! Everyone has a preference but that is usually
due to what we grew up on or around but doesn?t mean we ?dislike? the others, as much as it may sound like
it,,,,,,LOL!!!! As you have probably noticed a lot of us have several different makes and models!!! Am sure u gained
some knowledge or experiences while restoring ur Ford so feel free to pass them along to us, you did a very nice job
on the Ford, have fun with the Massey and share with us as u do!!!

Welcome aboard. The tractor looks good, nice to see it is
earning it?s keep. I use a 1954 Ford NAA (next newer model
from 8n) to rake hay. Good luck with the Massey .

Seems that rake is leaving a noticeable amount of hay behind. I set the tines about 1? off the ground.
Make sure any missing tines are replaced immediately. Lastly, I replace any batt end bearings that show
wobble. I have a NH55 and a NH256, pulled by Fergusons. Good luck and welcome.

Welcome cdhazen!

Not only compliments on the 8N, but compliments on the fine photo skills for those pics. Looking forward to seeing many (MANY!) more. *lol*

Welcome aboard. We have a Ford on the farm too, a 9N. A farm isnt complete without a little N to run around with.

Welcome from the Catskill Mts of NY. Nice tractor and nice scenery. I have skied/traveled Vt. many times.
