I have a farmall b that sits on a acerage for long times without starting and running
need recomendations for good solar 6 volt charger/maintainer

The "Battery Tender" solar panel charger has worked OK for me on both 6 and 12 volt batteries during late spring, summer and early fall. I got the three I have from Amazon and they were the ones around $90 I believe. I have used it to charge deep cycle 12 volt batteries on electric fencing as well. Do not expect much from it in the winter though. I am in Massachusetts and no matter how fussy you are with its angle and location it does not provide much charging capability this time of the year unless you get a string of a week of sunny days.

Take the battery home and maintain it on a Harbor Freight 6 dollar special, then take it out to the tractor when you need it. Or just jump it from your pickup when you need to start it.

I know they make them for game cameras, many of those are 6 volt. Here is one example, but it's pretty small.

This one is a little bigger, but they don't really say what the output, either one might do the job, and shouldn't need a charge controler being so small with a tractor battery.

I run a 6 volt solar fence charger. Live in the PNW. One winter I was having problems with keeping the fence hot. Tried different things to no avail. Called the company about it. The guy asked where I lived, told him, his response was "When was the last time I seen the sun?". I said it has been awhile... He said "Think solar powered." I was so embarrassed... Guess I was to busy chasing the horses to think this out on my own... bought their special little charger and a spare battery to rotate out.
