Figured out what was binding up the rear wheels on me Econom

Thanks again for everyone's input last week. I pulled the entire rear end apart. The last shaft that goes into the rear end had too much end play causing a binding condition. The shaft and nut are stripped. Since I don't know if the motor runs I think I am going to part it out instead of trying to find a replacement shaft.

A friend of mine could use his tig torch to build up a new surface, turn it down to original and rethread it. Takes a lot of skill, but sometimes it's the only way to save an old part.

(quoted from post at 16:05:16 12/17/19) Those threads will clean up on shaft. Get a new nut.
Your right about the threads cleaning up. However the nut isn't a normal nut but I may be able to use a new nut with washers added for spacers. Thanks for everyone's input.

Like others said: Clean up the threads and a new nut with red Loctite. If you can't find a die get a thread file' and you should be good to go. The motor may be good. The tractor probably was not being used because of the problem you found.Stan

get a nut with set screws in it when in place lock the set screws it will not move. get thread size pitch and order on line fixed a lot of Dosan forklifts that way rear wheel spindle nuts from new are junk

Hello PumpkinHead. Do a Google search for Mission Manufacturing in Princeton, Indiana and give them a call.
They have a lot of Power King parts in stock.
I've been there a couple of times but they're about 40 miles from my place.
They're good people and they know Power Kings inside and out.

Clean up the threads, new nut, and blue
locktite it. Red is brittle and the shock
will shear it. It break's like glass when
shocked.
