3010 John Deere hydraulics

I put a John Deere 148 loader on my 3010. I only had single hydraulics so I bought a LV22RFSTKA2B "Brand" joystick with a closed center and float. I replaced the elbow on the right side of the tractor, under the brakes, with a Tee and hooked the pressure line into it. the
Raising, lowering, dumping or curling the bucket work great, but when I put it in float the engine lugs down???
I also replaced the cover on the filter with the newer style and hooked in a 3/4 inch return line to it.
Thanks for your help

If placing loader control valve lever in float position causes engine to lug down then control valve is creating this issue. Technically when control lever is in float that's designed to allow oil from each ends of boom cylinders to freely exit allowing boom to move up or down with terrain. Pressure & return ports on valve should be blocked by the valve spool when spool is in float position.
