Belarus 825 front 4WD: Front wheels

I have it locked into 4WD, but the front wheels won't provide any traction in reverse. I keep getting stuck at the bale feeder when trying to back up. It seems like it does get traction on the front when I am going forward, although I can't tell for sure and how much.I know I have seen the front wheels spinning while going forward...but I can't tell if they are spinning from a stop (start up). Any ideas on what might be the problem? Yesterday, I retorqued the nut on the intermediate shaft where the slip clutch is located. The drive shaft to the front is spinning all the way to the front axle. Any advice would be great.

I don't know much on them other than I ran those for a while, I think you have it in "automatic" and not full lock.

In automatic the front wheels only pull in forward, in full lock they pull forward and reverse.

Automatic was always the middle notch, full up with full lock.

The shaft turns in reverse?

Yes, there are 3 settings for it and the center setting is it only engages when there is slippage. The top setting is for locking the wheels in all the time. Good question. I will check to see if the drive shaft spins in reverse. Thanks.

Just went out and checked and the front driveshaft does reverse directions for forward v. reverse. Drive shaft seems to be spinning real good all the way to the front axle.

Drive shaft will always spin as it is direct connected to the front axle. I suspect you are not getting the full time to engage and are only in auto. The
linkage may need adjustment.

I will check that. When the adjustment handle is all the way up, it appears the lever on the side, below the cab, is fully extended, but it is rigid, so hard to tell for sure. I see the adjustment turnbuckle on the lever below the cab. I'll see if it has some room still to extend it further.
