Oil For Our Old Tractors - Good Prices

Our old tractors do not burn much oil, if any, but every year or so we change the oil. Since we have nine tractors, it takes a good quantity of oil. This weekend, I found two super deals on oil. One was at one of the big box store/lumber yard. Shell Oil, Formula Shell in 10W40 Weight for $1.79 per quart. The other was at one of the big membership clubs. Chevron Supreme in 10W30 Weight. $1.67 per quart.

Fortunately, I happened to be in my truck. I hope the tractors last as long as my oil supply.

Make sure you put a zinc additive in the oil or your camshaft will go South on you! Diesel oil is a better option in the long run for older tractors.

I add in prolong and buy that in the gallon from Amazon. Do I still need a zinc additive? If so, can someone recommend which additive?

Thanks,
