Hardi sprayer rate controller problem

I have a hardi sprayer with a mustang 3500 controller that has developed a problem with the rate controller. It will not adjust the rate manually or in the automatic position! One thing I have noticed and I will correct is that the pressure gauge doesn t show pressure, I think that it froze over winter . Any ideas other than the pressure gauge that could be my problem??Thanks in advance for any help!

If the gauge froze, likely some thin else did, as well, such as the electronic flowmeter and/or the electric flow control valve.

Is there a liquid line to the gauge, or is that electronic, as well?

There?s a liquid line going to the gauge! I ran antifreeze thru the sprayer last fall, always using straight full strength antifreeze.Does the gauge have to be working for the controller to adjust the pressure?

No, the controller wouldn't "know" that the mechanical gauge isn't working.

Since you did protect the system from freeze damage, I'd check all the electrical connections and plugs, clean 'em with electrical contact cleaner and plug and unplug a few times to polish 'em up.

In my experience, it wouldn't surprise me if either the electronic flow meter or the electric pressure control valve is stuck or otherwise not functioning, tho.

Ours is a TeeJet system it functions the same, I had the flow meter go bad once other times the little fan that spins to read the flow has
become stuck with a piece of debris. All it took was to remove and clean. Although I could still manually adjust it just read 0 gallons per
acre. I would venture to say yours Is the regulating valve either stuck or an electrical connection that is bad. Try to run the regulating
valve with a direct battery jumper wire to see if it moves that will tell you if it's the valve or the wiring

More than likely it is the flow control valve. You can free it up and get it going but if it has stuck once it is living on borrowed time.

Understand what you?re saying, does the pump have to be running, pressuring the system to move the flow valve open and closed ? I tried going up and down the road today using the monitor controller in cab of tractor, adjusting as going forward, pump not running, no movement of valve on sprayer!! The monitor is registering speed , matching tractor speedometer.mustang controller is a little difficult to program !!

Thanks for the reply! Is there constant electric charge to the controller valve, or does it energize as tractor is going forward? The manual says that the controller in cab of tractor gets electrical impulses from speed sensors connected to wheels on the sprayer!
