I installed a new heat gauge according to the instruction in box. The gauge don't move after running the engine.Where the wire attaches to the sending unit can be rotated. That does't seem right. What should I try? The tractor is a 1973 1105 Massey Ferguson.
THANKS.

Try grounding the wire.

Either take it loose and hold it to a clean metal ground, or use a jumper wire to ground it.

Turn the ignition on, the gauge should swing all the way to hot.

If it does, the sending unit is bad.

If it does not move, the gauge is defective or improperly wired.
