Needing some big batteries

Have a International semi tractor and the batteries are finally crapping out on me. It has a M11 Cummings engine in it. Is some batteries better then others? Has NAPA with 1140 cranking amps now.

Go to your friendly Navistar dealer and get some of his size 31 batteries,,,,basically a size 27 usually sealed, and ⅜" stud posts. He buys them by the pallet, made for the application and the cheapest price around. While you are there he can make up new battery cables for you also.

I used them in my 800 cu in Big Cam Cummins 400 hp OTR rock bucket and in my tractors. Best deal in town.

Any of the big truck dealers can have good prices on batteries. It pays to call around at times, see who has a special this week.

I buy mine at rural king. I even made new cable to put the semi batteries in my tractors.

3 of the best engines made! I worked on the 5.9 and 8.3 ( B and C series) 24 valve development building test engines.

Guy I know that has an auto electric shop likes Deka batteries.
I bought one and think i will buy another or two. I don't really know if they're worth the extra money.

+1 on the Deka. The local starter rebuilder sells them at a price comparable to anyone, the quality is excellent, and I help a local family stay employed. The last four batteries I have bought have been Deka.

I've had good luck with Napa's LARGE HD truck/tractor batteries. i'm talking about the large ones with the picture of a truck/tractor/loader on the side.

I've also had good luck with Deka batteries as others have said. Shop around. You should be able to get them for the same prices as other lesser quality batteries.

I've been using Deka's in my lawn tractor. the cheap batteries last maybe maybe 1 to 2 mowing seasons. I generally get 4-5 from the Deka's.
