Must be the year of the snake!

I got this one this morning in my outside broader. As you can see by the lumps, it had eaten three chicks. I am getting tired of the snakes! Between me and two of my dogs, we have killed a dozen this year. Normally I get one or two. It measured right at 6'. One other one earlier this year was longer and bigger

Interesting timing. I was just thinking earlier in the day that I had not seen a snake in sometime and lo and behold I see a 26" garter snake out by the chimney of the house an hour later.

There's a bridge near where I live and under that bridge there's a good amount of snakes that are 4 or 5 ft long. You can see them on the rocks. Saw one crossing the road Thursday.

Yes. It was a chicken (rat) snake. They all have been. We have copperheads and rattlers around here, but thankfully with my son running around outside, they have all been these.

I saw a garter snake in my tractor shed yesterday, I hope it gets big enough to eat mice, the mice chewed the insulation off some wiring on our Farmall C.
