Cold Remembrance Day

Wind chill of -20C yesterday but I harnessed up the Gopro camera and videoed the brief outdoor ceremony. Due to nnalert risks they couldn't hold the usual indoor one so this was at least a token remembrance ceremony. Most folks sat in their cars with the heater running and watching out the window. I didn't do a great job on the video. Didn't move around enough and the Gopro has no zoom on the lens. But its something to mark the day. My brother rang the bell 11 times. He must have nearly froze. I was dressed for -40 degrees.

Cold November 11

That did look very cold. I used to know several First World War veterans, but of course they are all gone now. Here in 2020 I realize I now don’t know any living Second World War veterans. Both my father and father in law were vets. There used to be hundreds at our November 11 remembrance service, now just a handful like in your town.
