Vermeer baler springs

Didn't someone on here post about a screw in end for the tension springs in a Vermeer baler? I have a couple broken springs and I could use a solution other than new springs

If we are talking about the same thing, the Hesston 5580 that I had just had two plugs that screwed in the ends of the spring. Screw them out of the old spring and into the new spring. If you are talking about reusing a broken spring end, should work as long as the tension bolt is long enough. If we are on the same page that is.

On 505 super I, there is a threaded plug that will screw in one end, and a threaded clevis type plug that screws in the other end. Vermeer used to sell each end, and the spring itself, all as individual pieces. Last one I bought, Vermeer would only sell it as an “assembly”, the spring with both ends already threaded in.

I have heated the end of a broken spring with a cutting torch and bent it 90 degree then installed a short shackle to make up for the difference in length.

Did a couple of them and they lasted for years like that.
