One way to adjust the front axle on a Case!

I guess it had not been adjusted for several years and was setting in the big shed!

Took hours of heat and pulling to get one side on my 1030 loose. Haven't tried the other side yet

On my 560 I used two tapered chisels top and bottom of the tube between the center frame end and a long bolt through one of the holes. Took awhile but both sides came out that way.

I know more than one guy that wanted to change the ball hitch in a receiver hitch setup that ended up chaining the ball to a big tree or bulldozer and ripped the receiver right through the frame of his truck! Rust is the best "Loc-Tite" there is!

I just spent 2 weeks getting the front end of my 706 apart to adjust the width. Heating, beating, soaking & 30 ton jacks rigged up in there. What a chore!
I put grease fittings in the tube once I cleaned everything up, painted and reassembled. I will give them a shot of grease every time i grease the tractor.

I pulled one apart that had been in 40 years. Jacked 1 side up and got it hot enough to melt wax into it. did it every hour for a day. next day heated it up and jack between frame and air chisel to vibrated and walked it right out. I am a believer in wax now. just something I learnt on this site.
