Worked for a old guy on a bin crew a couple of summers in territory that I wasn't familiar with. His direction would be like; take the old cow bell road west until you get to where the F 20 is setting under the tree by the road and take the next left and go to the old school house, take a right and it's the second place. The F 20 and the tree are gone, they hauled it away for scrap and cut the tree down 10 years ago and the school house burned down and now it's a field , but you'll recognize >where they were.

Super99, I am that old guy, LOL. I will refer to a property by the name of the prominent person who lived there 50 years ago. And then there are roads that are long since converted to class 6 so there is no sign for them out on the main road. Then we have at least three roads in town that have two names. They have the modern name that was adopted for 911, but then there is a name that was in common use forty years ago. Our long time fire chief up until 20 years ago used to use these old landmarks and road names a lot and these days when I do it a middle aged guy will say "Aw come on your pullin' a "Red" on us.
