The A6 combine and DC4 is the same as my dad was running in the late 40s. He only had the DC4 a year and then moved up to a John Deere D. Wisonsin power on the combine and the D could idle along as slow as needed in low gear.

(quoted from post at 19:39:13 03/15/21) We try to do our best to stay on top of the V4 maintenance so she purrs in the field.
You did well. My dad spent days trying to start that stubborn Wisconsin engine when he was supposed to be harvesting. Its gone on to power the firewood saw at my brother's place now and he has it tuned up to start pretty good.
I've got a DC4 in the shed that has not run in years. Very hard starting tractor.

What i heard happen is the is the coil don't put out any juice[or less] when there warm or hot,so as soon as it cools down, it will start. We never owned one, just what i heard!

we DID experience that initially. The condenser would get hot, swell, and short out on the mag casing. It would go one pass (approximately)
and then shut down and we could not get it started until it cooled off and then start the process over again. We put a new condenser in and it runs very well.
