I ran out of Stargon gas for the mig today. I did pretty good, I picked up this one up 4-20-2020.
I took it to town and got another tank, went in to pay for it and he said that will be $109. I
said that has really gone up since my last one. He asked how much that one was and I told him it
was around $30. He said let me see what I can do, and then said he could get it down to $85. So I
paid him and came home. The more that I thought about it, it just didn't seem right, so I came in
and looked at last years records. I paid $29.99 in 2020. I called them back and checked the price
thinking he charged me for a larger bottle. They said that was the right price. The ticket says
list price $160.93, net $80 and $5.60 tax. Wow, that's more than double inside of a year. I may
have to learn to stick weld again!!!

I just got a bottle that looks taller then that for around $20 but every time I go to this place I always fear they are going to be shut down which there was a new owner this time that said the old man was going to shut down last July until he agreed to buy it

i would have to look but that seems about right. we just had 3 bottles of 75/25 filled for the mig welders at the body shop, and a bottle of straight argon for the tig welder, i think it was a hundred a bottle for the k cylinders. acetylene got spendy too! i have one empty acetylene at the farm, but for now i am running oxy propane on those two torches. i have oxy acetylene at the body shop.

Get used to. You can't add 6 trillion dollars to the economy with a few computer key strokes without creating inflation.

Wait to you buy some steel so you can use the welder and gas. Bought some steel today and said wow steel jumped in price compared to when I bought last September 2020.
