The neighbor sends me a pic of my cows running down the
road away from the house.

Another neighbor helped my wife get them in. Guess I'll be
looking for the hole tonight when I get home. It's all new fence
so I'm guessing they got a gate open some how.
 
i got a load of 550 lb calves out of Montana,1 or 2 got out, right after the semi left the yard, they knew that they came from the west,and they were hell bent in that direction,that was a major job with out a saddle horse, to get them to come back east 300 feet, i guess they are smarter than we think!
 
When I was in high school, I got a note from the main office that our cows were on the airport runway. Everyone wished me luck but no one offered to help.
 
true story , but best days of my life were when some one said ,pigs are out, was well after dad had left for work , school bus came & went & mom didn't drive get the fat little F'rs back in and the day was mine lol
 
Was at a friends house one evening, when I seen about 5 pigs (about 60 pounders) that were out and headed for the woods. He yelled HAY they all stopped and turned around to look at us. Than he yelled GET YOUR AZZ BACK IN THE PEN. They all ran to the pen, but we had to lift them over the fence. I was impressed and amazed.
 
Years ago when I had cows. I was going to work and my cows were out on the road. I got around them and was driven them home. When I got to the house I yell at my wife to come out and open the gate but she never did. I got the cows in without help. When I opened the house door my wife was standing there with a butcher knife in her hand. She thought someone was trying to get her. I told her I'll make a deal with you the next time the cows get out you can put them in and I'll stand in the house and hold the butcher knife.
 
Weve gotten a few calls texts knocks on the door over the year about the cows or heifers being out. Not pleasant but always grateful and most times theyd help us get them back in.
