1964 Oliver 1800C gas new gauges not working right!

So I upgraded my gauges from Korves, to a six gauge panel. The fuel gauge didnt work before but if you tapped on the glass it would spike to full. Have a new sending unit. Still using old. Thats issue number one, temp gauge doesnt work, old one did. It goes slowly right to hot. Still same wiring harness but these new gauges has B, and T on the back plus a ground stud? Infigured bolting the panel back down grounds everything. Do I need to ground each one??
3rd I hooked up ammeter, a line from the alt not a generator, to the T stud and from the batt wire at the starter, ran a line to the batt side of gauge. Reads nothing.
Is this all just grounding? Unsure what the deal is?? Any help would be appreciated a bunch!

Jim
believe B=battery and T=tank, so what is the amp gauge doing with B and T terminals?

This is a excellent question. Im unsure
hatever the case, an ammeter should have two terminals and any ground is unnecessary. The connection you described will have the ammeter reading only alternator output and NOT load currents, i.e., battery drains.

Thank you for the response, this was how I was told to hook it up. So whats the correct way? Thank you again for your help

ne side of ammeter to battery (looks like you have that), and then other terminal of ammeter should have alternator and ALL loads connected to it (ignition, lights, etc.). This way the meter reads everything going into and out of battery.

To add on the amp meter your connection is correct, as to
address what JMOR has added the terminal that you have
connected to the alternator also needs to have any other
powered items also connected there like ignition, lights and
cab accessories if so equipped. And sorry if this tractor was
only available as a diesel. If you make the connection as I suggested and the needle reaction is opposite of what it should be, as in you turn on the lights and it shows charge all the wires on the terminals need to be swapped to opposite sides. If you are calling out the wrong
terminals on the wrong gauges maybe less Jim Beam is in
order. And please that is posted for humor purposes only. I
actually work with a person whose name is Jim Beam, as
yours may well be.

Haha, I did retire the ol beam many years ago. Too expensive to learn from!
Ok so I did look at that gauge and I have it hooked to the battery + at starter. And where all the wires come into the alternator, 10mm nut holding all the eyelets. Have the other side going to that. Yet it isnt registering. Even with flicking lights on and what not. So with that third post on the gauge maybe I do have to run a separate ground??

That tractor originally had a generator and was positive ground. That could well be your problem. If Korves sent you the right
gauges, they probably need to be positive ground too, which you can't do if you've converted it to an alternator.

see no grounding post on the ammeter, only one labeled B+ and one labeled L.. The black cylinder looks like a light to me. I cn't read markings on fuel gauge.

so if its converted to a alt how would you hook these up correctly? im unsure how it worked before being that it was converted to alt
