Head Gaskets

Well thanks for the earlier advice regarding fuel bleeding on the 900, she is now up and running again.
Next question, are Case 500 head gaskets readily available and are the expensive? Alternatively has anyone ever re-used head gaskets or had some made? I've re-used head gaskets several time on diesel Internationals with good success, just asking.

we have reused head gaskets on older gas engines. Had great success with it too.Just painted them with aerosol aluminum paint.However,I would rather not reuse a head gasket on a newer diesel engine.But if that was all I had,I would probably reuse it.It just needs to be 'perfect'.

Head gasket kit is $63 from the YTMAG, I am not sure about shipping to Scotland.

If all else fails check out Hemmings Motor News several companies that will custom make gaskets.

RCP and Bill, YT says on their shipping page they do not ship outside of the US. I would suppose there are places across the pond you can get them since they are obviously produced by the aftermarket. If need be maybe someone here could buy them and ship them to you. There may be import/export fees or tariffs involved.

Reused one once. I used Pemarmatex copper hi-tac spray. It worked. But I would say if you can avoid it, don't reuse. Diesel has higher compression, I did it on a flat L head jeep with only 5.6 to 1 compression ratio.
