An American family moved into our neighborhood in the mid-late 50's way up here, the dad was a Baptist minister I believe from Bay City, Texas. I chummed around with one of his kids, Billy Jinks ..... a real character, always laughing and having a good time, had some baseball skills that none of us had I remember that. By the time high school came around in 1960, they had moved back to the US I believe. In '67 in the local paper here I saw his obituary that the family put in since they lived here years before and had a church following obviously, KIA in Viet Nam, Billy was in the Marines. RIP Billy, I think of you every Memorial Day weekend that happens south of the 49th.

They gave up their dreams so we can have ours.
So much pain for the families - mothers, dads, sisters, brothers, wifes, children, and for those who come back mangled and crippled for the rest of their lives. We cant give them enough thanks and respect. May they somehow find Gods peace in knowing our freedom is from Him and it isnt free.
