Well,,I had a thread going here on my current Ferguson TO20 project,,when all heck broke loose bout a month ago and got my Email hacked,!! "They" deleted all my contacts, emails, addresses,,everything! With the help of some crackerjack Microsoft Techs,,they were able to "Remote Acess" my PC and recover most of my stuff, but still missing some others. Microsoft suggested I change passwords on ALL my accounts which I have done so and feel like "They" are now gonna have a tuff time hacking me again what with my new 25 character PW's LOL,,!! I will now be using a user name I used before,,might as well change everything! I just KNOW Bruce(Or) will be proud of me,,,,,LOL.
Anyway, I have been busy on the block repairs to my TO20,,and am very pleased to announce that I, Myself did the welding repairs to the cracked webs and the repairs look many wonderfuls!! I had went to talk to an old welder about his suggestions and he listened and he handed me a 10# box of Eutectic Castolin Electrode 240 AC/DC and said YOU can weld it as easy as I can. I AM AMAZED at the results! As he suggested, I set my Lincoln 240 tombstone at 60 amp setting and first pass was unbelievable!! I had ground out the cracks on both sides of webs and along the bottoms and that rod just flowed right iin there and tied to the parent block metal,,,I could not believe my eyes at the results. I did have some slag holes that I had to grind out and reweld but am just amazed. AND NO CRACKS!! I did use my needle gun after every pass to help dissapate the heat,,,BUT, it did not take very much heat from welder (60 amp setting) to get metal flow so that helped a bunch!! You could touch the weld right after using the needle gun. I ordered a 3" X 1/2" grinding wheel and used a 3/8" all thread to chuck to my drill and used it to grind down the excess weld metal. I then made me a "polisher wheel" of 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood glued together and machined it to a 3 1/8" circle, used some more 3/8" all thread for the drill and glued some 60 emery cloth to the OD of it and used that to final polish the repairs.
I took a bunch of before and after pics but still trying to figure how to post on here.
NOW for the re-assembly of this beast,,,,,,

Be aware that if you find any resistance at all when you are installing the crank, it may be a sign that your welding has caused the block to warp. Then it will need to be line bored.
 

Well,,SDE,,I guess I just flat lucked out,,!! I plastigaged the 3 mains and got .0015 on all three,!! Removed the crank and Lubriplated all bearing halves, lashed everything back up and,,,,, and,,,, she spins many wonderfuls,,!! Dang that is one heck of a relief,,!! Slipped the camshaft in and it spins like a top as well,,YES!! Now,,I'm second guessing myself and wondering should I do some kind of "Test" on the cooling jacket,,,,??
