Solid State VR ??

Is there such a thing as a solid state voltage regulator to replace the mechanical VR on old tractors? I could use one on my case garden tractor that has a starter generator on it. I'm wondering if the electric golf carts that also have a starter generator might have a solid state replacement.
 
There are a bunch of them on the auction site.
I don't know if anyone has posted the wiring diagram for such a conversion.

Yes but the only thing I've found is ones for Harley Davidson motorcycles but they used Delco generators so good, I have one on a B&S with a starter/gen and it works good going to do another soon. when searching google for one its a Superior PN 74504-78 its the only one I know how which wires go where, it wired thus Green wire = to "F" Yellow wire = to "A" Red wire = to "B" or battery here's a link to DB electrical these guys are good guys
