4020 LP tractor

Tractor dies soon after starting. Wait at least 2 hours and it will do the same thing. noticed the fuel filter/strainer gets hot quick. Never noticed before. Is this normal?

Is it the strainer getting hot or the convertor? Convertor will have 4 or 5 lines connected. Fuel in and out, and Coolant in and out, and might have a air filter compensation
line. Parts of the convertor will be warm when the engine warms up as it uses engine coolant to vaporize the fuel instead of exhaust heat conducted through the manifold on a
gasser.

If it is your strainer getting warm (two fuel lines and a wire) you have a solenoid going bad and that is why it only runs for a short period.

I suggest to check volts at coil(item 3) when it's activated & check for good ground connection of coil. New coil is part # AR52766 @ $241.77 from JD

Run on vapor most of the time.

Thanks. The solenoid on the strainer was getting hot. I took it off and it was "sticking". I cleaned it and put it back on. It seems to be working for now. The tractor still will not start. Where can I get another solenoid?

Run on vapor most of the time.

Under heavy loads at low air temperatures,in particular if your fuel supplier has slipped some lower cost butane in with the LP .
The tank pressure can drop and not push enough fuel to the carb .
