Orders to YT

I put in an order July 26th and can't get any feedback. I did get an order number, but they haven't charged my card and no answer on the phones. Has anyone ordered lately? What was the turn-around time?

I ordered a tach drive gear for a MF-255 Perkins AD236. This was the only place I found it listed :)
 
Ordered about a month ago, no information at all until the parts showed up. Took a couple weeks, but it was odd ball stuff.
 

Not to knock YT I order stuff every day from across the USA its became the norm... Its like trying to pull hens teeth to have communication with the seller.

Amazon is kicking arse I do most of my shopping there.

Getting my normal supply's local is getting to be a pain. They have got to where they don't answer the phone. I went to 3 local suppliers late today no one had RTV for gear oil are #4 and 6 hose clamps.. 4 and 6 are for 5/16 and 3/8" hose... Yesterday no 1/4" fuel injector hose to be found WTF its the most common size 1/4"/8MM...

IMHO they are intentionally shorting inventory the next COVI deal is in their head... I do not do appointments anymore I tell my customers I cannot guarantee I can turn out the work in the allotted time. You leave it the day before if its not here the day before I wont work on it. I need the day before to hunt down the parts I may need...

Now get this I am running across parts that are only available in Canada What the ell is that all about... I have never knocked a parts man dealing with some of these new ones is a P.I.T.A... You would think I slapped them if I ask them to do a search for a dealer that may have it... They don't understand I won't it and will pay good money for it... NAPA has some outrages shipping prices I order 3 coolant hoses they were in
Florida shipping was $47.00 what do I do they were the only ones that had it. I will tell ya add it to the bill and get over it..
 

I placed an order on the weekend. Same thing. Got the Order Number, and an email confirming the order. Didn't take any payment, and had TBD on shipping.

They called yesterday to take care of the CC info. After that, I got a shipping email with a USPS #.

Guessing they may be having a spot of computer issues, or perhaps short staffed currently. I imagine they'll be contacting you soon...
 
In my experience, YT will provide shipping information if it's something that's shipping from their warehouse. Some parts are drop-shipped from other suppliers, and those just show up on your doorstep. Since they haven't charged you, I'd guess it's backordered; they should have notified you if that's the case.

I've never used their phone number, but have received fairly prompt email responses. Use their 'Contact Us' form.

Generally speaking the lack of communication is a direct result of the "Race to the Bottom" that we ourselves are causing.

When you find a source of a part that's cheaper, why do you think they're cheaper? It's not out of the kindness of their hearts. They're cutting corners. They're cutting ALL the corners.

The places that used to provide good customer service see that they're getting their arses handed to them, so they follow suit. They have no choice. They want to survive.

So we all buy from the cheapest source, and then complain about customer service when there is a problem. WHY IS IT EVEN A SURPRISE???

You like Amazon because you haven't had a problem, yet.
 
They called last night, well after working hours here. They are having problems sourcing the part but think they will have it out this week.

I wasn't really complaining, I understand finding parts for old stuff, they probably relist a catalog and their supplier is slow or doesn't really have it.

If you had entered the CC info when you placed the order, they would not have called you for CC info three days later.
Or was something messed up in your card info entered?
 
Simply wasn't an option... The page told me PayPal wasn't an option for my order, so CC was the choice. Only it had no place to enter that info. All the usual shipping info areas, and such were fine. Found it strange, but figured either they had a computer issue, or their system was holding off due to some other unknown reason, possibly stock, or odd shipping...

No big deal, and it didn't bother me a bit. If they hadn't gotten back to me in a week, I would have called to find out what the issue was. The tractor has been around longer than I have, and has probably needed these parts for ages, so a week or two either way isn't really a concern.
