Ford 2600 Question

Hi, all - New to the world of tractors and trying to get up to speed.

I am supposed to go look at a Ford 2600 tomorrow. The ad says it is an '82, although everything I see lists '81 as their last year.

The reason I am writing is because I wanted to make sure it had live pto before I went out to look at it. What I learned is the owner isn't real familiar with tractors. All he could tell me is that to engage the PTO he pushes the clutch and pulls a lever on the side. Not super helpful.

Anything I can have him look at to confirm if it is live PTO?

It probably has a Live PTO if it has an * speed trans and was ordered that way. Pushing the clutch down fully to engage the PTO
could mean it has a 2 stage clutch with tractor stop part way down, and PTO stop fully down. Jim

The 2600 could have a transmission PTO or
a live PTO. It sounds like it is a
transmission (non-live) PTO from the
description. Read the YT thread below,
reply from IanC, it has the PTO code from
the model number. Ask the owner to find
and let you know the model number.
