I have my Dads GreenMachine weed eater he bought in the 70's. It was getting old and needed attention. It is made in Japan and very high quality. It needed a fuel tank, carb kit and kill switch. I made an adapter and put a Zama carb on it. I couldnt get a carb kit for the TK that was on there. Adapted a similar fuel tank to it, and made a switch panel from $400.00 a square foot thin gauge aluminum. My old truck license plates.LOL It runs like a top. Actually love the Zama.

I just rounded it off, the license plates i get from the court house are $400. Just as well get something out of them. The carb, and the air box are all throw a ways i picked up somewhere. It is a straight shaft trimmer that came with a saw blade. It starts first pull.

Not to nit pick, but the original carburetor and fuel tank went to waste... If you were really about fixing you would have made parts from scratch to rebuild the carburetor, and plastic welded the original tank back together.

You're just one of those "parts changers" that everyone holds in such low regard.

This is, of course, all said in jest, but it is eye-opening when you look at things from a different perspective.

It's more than just changing parts. Everything was handmade and designed by me. Could you cut out a fuel pump diaphragm for the old carburetor for me please? The tank was a waste, it crumbled just taking it out. How should one weld that?

Cool Good tip : ). I have a old green machine back pac blower it runs sweet. I rebuilt the carb this year one of my buds in the small engine business found a kit for it.
